I must first state that i am not a big fan of chocolate. But ever since seeing that movie ‘chocolat’ (from whom which Moolgy had given me to watch) i had become somewhat intrigued as to chocolate shops themselves. Store hours and window display of a ton of chocolate goodies… Ausstattung Oberstockwerk (Decor upstairs): right when you walk in you will see chocolate everywhere…of all sorts shapes and sizes…. They even made their own… with marzipan and everything!
I think this is paradise for all you chocolate lovers.
It smelt absolutely wonderful in this store…
These were ridiculously good…and one of the things i noticed immediately about their chocolates was it wasn’t like american chocolate…these chocolates were totally not overly sweet…they had just the perfect amount of sweetness in them…
this was really good…totally woke me up, smelt great, and was very ‘pretty’ as my doung seng had put it. Ausstattung Erdgeschoss (Decor downstairs): There was also a downstairs that had a HUGE assortment of different style of chocolates. nutz, fruits, alcohol….i wondered if they had any chocolates with meat in them so many different kinds of chocolates! just walking around perusing…and later on came back and bought a ton as souvenirs for family. WOOT!
What fascinated me most was how you could control the amount of cacao in the chocolates…you could pick the percentages…from 30% up to 90% for all you dark chocolate lovers out there. Nette Leute (Nice people): As i was looking around, Moolgy actually struck up a conversation with the nice lady behind the counter….quite interesting indeed, as i started to notice they weren’t speaking german…i was like…i understand what you are saying…but it hadn’t registered that they were speaking in french until much later….wow…interesting in deeeeeeed i say. The lady was really sweet and kept giving us free samples to partake in….her choices were really good…LOL totally reminded me of the movie Chocolat when the lady picked out the perfect chocolates for each of her guests. Schokolade! (Chocolate!):
I bought a few for myself. which were again…really really good…
I later on went back before leaving to get mum one of their chocolate boxes….beautiful lovely wood finish box. They really did do a very nice job wrapping the chocolates up for them to survive my flight back home…i actually picked out a bunch for mum, as i know she loves the assortment of different nuts in her chocolate. Mum immediately said the same thing i said when she ate one, “its really good cause its not so sweet.” I am a great son. WOOT! gooooo ME! now lets see if i can actually remember all of these…..
Walnuss Marzipan (Walnut Marzipan) Irish Coffee Wiener Apfelstrudel (Viennese Apple Strudel) Kirsch Marzipan (Cherry Marzipan) Pistache Cassis (Pistachio Cassis) Pistazien Marzipan (Pistachio Marzipan) Latte Macchiato Mandel-Schicht-Nougat (Almond Layer Nougat)
Summation: With such friendly service, and a HUGE WIDE selection…this is a must stop by place if you’re going to Vienna. and EVEN IF YOU DON’T LIKE CHOCOLATE (unless your allergic…thats a different story) YOU HAVE GOT TO COME HERE!!! i couldn’t stop eating the pepper chocolates that they had on the counter…it was just sooooo goood….unbelievably good….i think i should make myself a steak later…with chocolate drizzled on it…..
