So Moolgy had wanted to take me to this beer garden (this would be my first time going to a beer garden) in the amusement park near by her dorm. Now mind you i must let you know i am not a big fan of beer…its really not my thing….it was quite interesting walking in and seeing how so many people of different ages were partaking in this beer garden.

I saw this on the menu, and Moolgy had pointed out that everyone gets this here…and looking around at other tables…sure enough everyone had this on their table…

And she ordered me a beer and said that i should atleast try it, even though i am not a beer fan. She got me some kind of rice beer. And holey sheeeeet, the beer was…RIDICULOUSLY GOOD…i’m saying that alot in Vienna aren’t i? but yeah, i drank my beer and drank her beer….and since i gulped it some…i got a nice buzz on my empty stomach…i couldn’t believe that beer actually tasted this good with no after taste….the rice beer was quite lite, her darker beer had a more woodsy taste to it…that really made me rethink my thoughts on beer…..

they had like pretzel bread and bread on the table….which i later found out that you have to pay for each piece you take…WHOOOPS! it was very hard and untastey…i think cause no one touches it so they just keep passing the same one around…though i admit, if this was hot and moist, it would have been alot better…as you can see the huge salt particles on it….oh wellz.

Our food came…i didn’t notice how long it took cause i was too busy with BEER. lol.

    schw12.jpg

Bratwürstel (2 fried sausages) with mustard, onions, ketchup and French fries – The sausages were aite, felt like hotdogs, but the fries were really good, and their mustard was really good, ketchup was good too…onions didn’t do much for me  €6.30 ($8.19 USD)

Rear knuckle of pork grilled – The guy came over with it and took out a big bone. and i started to hack it up to dole out pieces to Moolgy and me. €15.80 ($20.54 USD)

Some of the meat was really juicy, some were overly salty, and some parts of the skin was really tough. There was alot of tastey fat! lol We couldn’t finish it, so i figured we’d take it home and add it to our omelet pile of meats. lol.

Summation: My first beer garden was quite the experience. Great Beer, Great Food, and Great Company….and i’ve never walked through an amusement park in the middle of the night…so that was quite an experience…and to think you can still ride the rides at that ungodly hour….which i refrained from since i was just stuffed with beer and pork fat….lol. I would definitely like to come back here with a larger group if time and life permits in the future. woot!
