So Moolgy had told me about the house of Sacher…that had made this world famous chocolate cake (which is really world famous cause almost every girl that i’ve talked to about this knows about this dang chocolate cake) and the intense battle with some other bakery of who has the original recipe of the sacher torte!

    Umgebung (environment):

Its a really nice set up that they have inside. They even have their own newsletter that sits on every table that you can take a gander at if you want. One of the tourist traps that Moolgy warned me about was to not sit on the outside, as it gets extremely warn in that little fitted area…thank goodness we avoided that, as everyone that was seated outside eventually came on in.

Sacher-Torte: mmmmm chocolate cake for breakfast. €4.90 ($6.37 USD)

the famous chocolate coin on top.

    sach11.jpg

layer of chocolate cake, then layer of jam, then layer of chocolate cake….then a huge dollop of whip cream…

didn’t really look anything special to me.

very nice presentation in their delivery of slices.

i don’t like cake, and i don’t like chocolate…but this was pretty good. It wasn’t overly sweet, and the jam and chocolate played well off of each other. I admit i don’t like chocolate or cake, but this was pretty freaking good.

Baguette Schninken: of course after those two bites of chocolate cake, Moolgy took the rest…so i was shtill hungry…so we ordered a light baguette, as she had wanted to take me to another place to eat… €7.20 ($9.36 USD)

    sach18.jpg

The baguette was a little harder than i was use to. (meaning not only the outside but the inside as well….my older sister speculates that they gave us stale bread. *shrug…) the tomato made an attempt to offset this by releasing fluids to soften the bread…but it was to no avail.

sach20.jpg Summation: I would probably never come here again, however, if i was with a guest or bringing someone that has never had the Sacher torte, i’d definitely take them to this place…its one of those must try places of chocolate cake….

however, i was let down that i was not able to try the other sacher torte at the cafe that supposedly had the original recipe…totally ran out of time…. lol.

    CHEERS!
