New World Mall: New Flushing Bakery
New Flushing Bakery
40-21 Main Street
Flushing, NY 11354
Again Alpha was raving about another joint inside of the New World Mall, and even went as far to say that these egg custard tarts could go up against Manna House Bakery. WTF? BLASPHEMER! so i had to try them out. *i stole the above picture from Jeffrey Tastes.
tiny little corner on the second floor, right to the left of the escalators when you go in to New World Mall. What they got: - click for a closer look - - click for a closer look -
admittedly they had a lot of weird flavored po-tots and don-tots.
very interesting…but i didn’t have time to try, nor was i interested in them.
though this did spark my curiosity….but i needed to focus. What i was after:
They had run out of egg custard tarts, so they were bringing over a fresh batch, so while i waited i got a ice lemon and honey drink….which was super bland…so don’t get that there. (excuse the fluorescent lighting as it was all i had to work with and i was in a rush, so the coloring of the egg custard tart might look a tad off…if you really dislike it and want to complain, go to hell.)
the egg custard was crazy hot, cuz it just came out of the oven…mmmm radioactive don-tot….
the crust was a little bit on the thicker side to my liking but it was very flakey and well done…also a tad oiler than i like…the egg custard was hot and gooey and just melted in my mouth…it was really good. Summation: Seriously good egg custard tarts at this location. They were really good, and i could definitely see myself coming here to get them as a fix…but i don’t feel they top or equal Manna House Bakery. rumors/gossip/blah blah blah: Alpha told me the other flavored po-tot and don-tots aren’t that good. Nor is the japanese hot dog thingy….uhg, i really wanted to try…maybe i will?
CHEERS!
