| | | | | There are actually three Bobby Van's located inside of Manhattan. I've only been to two (the one on 54th and the one on 46th) and from what i hear from Moonbutt about the new one in downtown, it's pretty good. |
| Starters | | The assortment of bread and butter were warm to the touch. Easy to spread and a great precursor of the feast to come. Lump Crabmeat Cocktail - I usually define good crab as being like clumps of good cheese. With three sauces to choose from, these lumps of cheese were awesome. ► | | | Main Course | | | Filet Mignon - very juicy inside and out, and the levels of meat from the outside to the center were evenly flavorful. A rare quality when the gradient of 'cookedness' is so steep. | ◄ Hollandaise Sauce - for Filet Mignon
Prime Rib - the meat was really tender and quite delicious.
◄ Mint Jelly - for Lamb Chops | Lamb Chops - Best Lamb i've ever had in my life. | Creamed Spinach - this place has by far the best creamed spinach i've ever had. The texture and the flavoring are far better then any other place i've ever had it. | Garlic Mashed Potatoes - this is also a great side dish to get, with bits of garlic that has basically liquified inside the hot mash, it's amazing. | | Fat Nation Trio - after the food came out | | WAIT! EUGE! THAT'S NOT YOURS!!! | "Finally....what i ordered...mmmmmmm" | duhhhh i give my food a thumbs up before even tasting it.... | "we meet again...lamb chop....chop.......ATTACH!!...er...i mean ATTACK!!! HAI YAaaAA!" | | Conclusion | | | I've been to Bobby Van's three times. Twice at this location, and each time the food was amazing. It's true it's a tad pricey, but i feel the food more then makes up for it. All of us really enjoyed the Appetizers, Bread, and of course we scarfed down our entrees. I would definitely recommend this place, and give it an 'ON' grade, since all three times were delicious. Bobby Van's is also the only steakhouse to have served such great tasting lamb, time and time again. It's, afterall, the best lamb that i've ever had in my life. I must add: I've had Lamb at Morton's, Peter Lugers, Leonard's and a few other steakhouses. These places had nothing on Bobby Van's. *And yes we did finish the mashed potatoes, thanks Eugene |
