So a friend has been talking about the spicy fish at Little Pepper...ALL THE TIME..."spicy fish spicy fish spicy fish"...so lo' and behold, i opted to trek out there and try it out with another friend. Which oddly enough turned out to be the friend that first took the said raving friend in the first place. Awesome, getting to eat with the 'source' is always a plus, cause they'll know exactly what to order. WOOT! (Yesh, this is the front of little pepper, but you got to go downstairs to get into the restaurant, not straight ahead. ie see pic of stairs on the right of storefront picture.)

They start you off with some pickled veggies and roasted peanuts.

lp4.jpg
Shredded Pork Stomach in Spicy Sauce: I felt this was really good, i liked the texture, and the flavor was on the mark. a nice little bite accented this one/two punch into a really nice appetizer.
lp5.jpg
lp6.jpg
Wonton in Red Chili Sauce:
These were nice and hot,
so when i ate them it was pretty warming inside.
As an appetizer, the small size works.
lp7.jpg
the hot oil, the scallions, everything meshed well together, and as you can see from the cross section view, they are on the smaller side (i felt it was the perfect size for an appetizer.) These were good, but nothing in comparison to White Bear's rendition.

lp9.jpg
Pork Stomach with Garlic: this was probably the only non-spicy dish we ordered. Though it was good, nothing about it wow'd me, and since we were in the mood for spicy...i fear this dish was left ostracized and felt the wrath of our bias-ness.
lp10.jpg

lp11.jpg
Braised Sliced Fish in Spicy Soup Base: Now the main reason we went to Little Pepper....was cause of this dish. Boneless fish cooked in a spicy soup base. The fish was tender, firm and flavorful, and very well accented by the soup base.
lp12.jpg
This was probably the spiciest dish we had on the table. This being the first time I've ever had this, I felt it was really good. Though i have nothing really to compare it to (meaning this specific dish) it was a nice medley of spiciness and consistency, i liked it so much, i didn't even eat rice with it, i just ate the pieces of fish in all their spicy glory.
lp13.jpglp14.jpg
On the bottom of the dish, to my surprise, were spicy beansprouts. They were good too, but i felt they were missing something...couldn't put my finger on it..

lp15.jpg
Summation: In the end, Ultimately the pig stomach and spicy fish won me over. I'll definitely be coming back to try other dishes at this joint. I hear that the soup noodles are rather good, and not to mention the lamb (i totally love lamb.) If you're into environment and surroundings, skip this place, as its a total hole in the wall (i love hole in the wall restaurants that are good) and it was pretty cheap; $34.80 for our entire meal. I can't wait to get some more spicy fish....spicy fish spicy fish spicy fish....oh brother...

The spicy fish soup looks good.  The ingrediant you may have been missing is startch.  Bean sprouts fill you up, but doesn't give you that hearty full feeling.

that looks pretty good... even though I probably can't handle it.

BTW, the peanuts are boiled, not roasted... and the first dish looks like pork stomach, but the next 'pork stomach' dish looks more like pork belly.  Can you verify on the menu what the names are (for ordering purposes) please?  Thanks.  Is this Szhechuan food too?  Cuz if so, I know what to order there too... yurms...
