Chef Jolie and i have been taking turns taking/showing each other restaurants to enjoy/share a good meal at. this week was my turn, and i decided that Del Frisco’s would be our destination. It had been a while since i’ve come back to this place and my last experience was quite good, so why not?

    blurry Bread: FREE!

The bread came nice and warm, with a really nice crisp sesame seed outside with a warm fluffy soft inside…The bread was really good…imagine the outside like a really good tasting breadstick with perfectly just toasted sesame seeds, but instead of being met by a crunchy innard, you get this warm soft fluffy embrace of tasty bread…yes…it was THAT good that i had to write this much about it.

    Seafood Plateau: $55.00

this was not as good as i was lead to believe by our waitress…I was only hopeful of it being good as my experience with the Seafood Plateau at Smith & Wollensky was awesome. However, this was way lacking…the lobster tail itself was from concentrate…er..frozen, which was really weird…as not only is it lobster season…the price was MP…don’t MP me with frozen shit. Everything was eh…shrimp cocktail was passable…but that was somewhat expected…(of course nothing tops Dimillo’s Shrimp Cocktail from Maine LOL.) If you still don’t get it….the bread was better than this.

    Filet Trio: $60.00

Three filet Medallions each prepared differently. This was Chef’s dish, so i don’t remember exactly. I think the first medallion was garlic butter, second was reduction sauce with mushrooms and third was a crab and asparagus cream sauce. They were actually really good. The medallions were ridiculously tender, not only cut with ease but melted in your mouth quite readily. It was a good dish for what it was.

    Long Bone 32oz Wagyu: $94.00

Plate was hot. There was more fat than i had anticipated but not too much. Marble-zation was pretty good. Wished it had been aged too…

Other than those issues…it was a really good steak. Perfectly marinated, and medium rare, just the way i like it.

Flavoring, marbling, was goooooooooood. Not the best i’ve had, but pretty good. I don’t really feel it was 94 dollar good….definitely not as good as the best i’ve ever had. But acceptable.

    Banana Bread Pudding: $11.00

Chef and i were craving something sweet, and i needed a jolt from the food coma i was experiencing. Black coffee for me and a lovely dessert. This was really good accompanied by the ice cream. The whip cream was eh, but it definitely hit the spot.

delfrisc11 Summation: Chef and I had agreed that we didn’t want to get sides cause we didn’t want to fill up on them…however, looking back….it probably would have been nice to get some kind of vegetable to split…as we were definitely meat overloaded. lol. (i don’t think i’ll be eating steak for a while LOL we actually doggie bagged our left over steak)

I definitely want to come back to this restaurant and try their other steaks, sides and some other appetizers.

I’d recommend this as a fancy night out. I had a good time, love the busy environment, and service was great. Food was good, however i know what i wouldn’t order next time.

    CHEERS!

  • You always post late at night. Those meats look so sinfully good. My stomach is demanding a visit to the kitchen.
